| A little about myself..... My name is Adwait Joshi and I was born on 23rd June 1980 and that
makes me a Cancerian. I am 176cms, 155lbs.
I was born in a small town of Dombivli. I went to a small school in Dombivli, named
South Indian Association High School. After spending 17 years in Dombivli we moved
to Thane, the city of lakes. Two of the
most famous lakes are Talaopali,
where you can boat and Upwan, which is a nice place to hang out. I joined the
B. N. Bandodkar college of Science studying in their science program preparing for my under grad studies. Passing the HSC examination in flying colors, I
chose mechanical engineering as my undergrad major. I pursued my Mechanical Engineering
degree from one of the esteemed colleges in Mumbai,
Sardar Patel College of Engineering, also called as SPCE.
While studying for my Bachelors, I spent a lot of time in
Mumbai, the city of stars. Mumbai is
a island that formed a part of the kingdom of Ashoka, the famous Emperor of India. Bombay,
as the city was formerly called inherited its name from the portugese who named their new
possession as "Bom Baia" which in Portuguese means "Good Bay". The name Bom Baia was
corrupted to Bombay by the British. The Kolis used to call the islands "Mumba" after
Mumbadevi, the Hindu deity to whom a temple is dedicated at Babulnath near Chowpatty's
sandy beaches. Hence the name of Bombay was change to Mumbai in the 90's.
Some of my hobbies include Trekking, Photography, Astronomy and Learning Classical Music. I and my duet singing partner
Siddhesh Kajarekar rocked SPCEites for four years by our musical performances. We together have won a lot of prizes in inter collegiate singing competitions. According to them we formed the duo of Sonu Nigam and Roop Kumar Rathod fame. It was in 1999 I met Apurva Marathe, and won a lot of Music competitions all over Mumbai. It was in 2001 when we fell in love and finally married each other on 3rd June 2006. Apurva has always been my inspiration and supports me in all my activities.
I love photography and am a amateur photographer. I especially like landscape and wild life photography. Two of my photographs have been published by the international library of photography.
All of my photographs have been carefully organized in different sections under the photos link. Do spend some time viewing those. I am also a big fan of astronomy. I own a Bushnell Voyager 114mm reflector telescope.
I graduated from
University at Buffalo, State University of New York acquiring my Masters Degree, specializing
in the field of Design and 3D Visualization using Virtual Reality. As a part of the degree requirements, I competed a Thesis titled "Visualization Techniques for a Prototype Anthropometric Database"
