I was always interested in Music since early childhood. I started taking tabla lessons when I was 5 years old. Me and my cousin Archu Tai used to learn Tabla from Tambe Guruji. I learned tabla with him until the age of 10 and later started learning from Kane Guruji in Dombivli. We have music in our blood, my mother is visharad in sangeet, my sister is madhyama purna, one my cousins has learnt tabla and another cousin has learnt sitar and my aunt Sou. Anita Kulkarni has completed both her Alankar exams and is a artist of All India Radio and a examiner of the Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalay. Our family was initiated in music by my grandfather Bhalchandra Joshi who was a maestro. He himself played tabla, peti, flute, violin and used to take classes.
I sing, play harmonium and tabla. I recently started the SwarGanga School of Music and impart music to young students. I am currently taking vocal lessons from Pritam Bhattacharjee who is a disciple of Pt Jasraj and tabla lessons from Prithwiraj Bhattacharjee who is a disciple of Ut Alla Rakha and Ut Zakir Hussain.
